Akiko Suzuki Eating Disorder
It has been unveiled by the Japanese figure skater, Akiko Suzuki that how she is enjoying every minute of her Olympic dream. She has proved in the Women’s Figure Skating that she is the pride of Japan. The promising career of Akiko Suzuki was ended at the age of 16 when she was battling with the eating disorder anorexia. She was one of the rising stars of Japanese women’s figure skating before her battle with the eating disorder. The ace figure skater at the mature age of 24 with will power and great determination has made it along with ex- world champion colleagues Miki Ando who is 22 years old and Mao Asada who is 19 years old in the Winter Olympics at Vancouver.
Akiko Suzuki said while speaking on missing the seasons of 2003-2004 that she wasn’t feeling well for a while and hence wasn’t able to compete. Afterward when she had come back she could not suppose or foresee being there that day so she had taken all steps hesitantly. People had pressed her onward so she could be there that day. The whole thing had occurred so she could be there. That was how she looked back at the earlier period. These were the descriptions by Akiko about being a part of the Olympics and what has happened to her in the recent past.
Suzuki tells that she had been inspired watching the victory of Shizuka Arakawa at the 2004 world championships and due to that victory she was put back on the road to recovery. At the age of 24 years Japan’s first Olympic figure skating gold was won by Arakawa in Turin. She explained that when Arakawa got gold she was watching the Olympics with her coach and cheering her. That was the most successful season for Suzuki.
