Aliana Reed-Amini, the famous Sesame Street’s star, died at the age of 63 on 17th of December. She was an actress and TV star and best known for her long-running role on “Sesame Street” and “227”. She was fighting with breast cancer for last two years at St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica. Publicist Billy Laurence has confirmed the news of her death at Health Center of Santa Monica.
She appeared in two stage plays and several movies including “Death Becomes Her” and “Cruel Intentions”. Her stage work includes credits of “Chicago” and “Hair”. Numerous TV shows were being fascinated by her guest-starring roles such as “ER”, “Ally McBeal”, “NYPD Blue” and “The Drew Carey Show”.
For “Sesame Street”, she was being cast in 1976 and played the role of Olivia as the sister of a character Gordon whose occupation is photography and remained a part of the show till 1988.
She was the landlady and the best friend of the main character of the NBC’s show “227” from 1985 to 1990. It is strange and funny that in “227” she married with a character which was actually being played by her real husband Kevin Peter Hall.

In 2008, she remarried and her husband has told the press that no funeral services will be held but a celebration of her life next year. She was born on 10th of November 1946 at Springfield, Ohio.
