Amy Madigan in Big Red
American actress Amy Madigan will join Randy Orton in the family drama movie “Big Red”. The “Big Red” is written and directed by Mike Pavone. This movie revolves around a 12-year-old boy whose teacher pairs him up on a project with the school’s biggest outcast and social pariah,a child known as “Big Red.” In the movie Madigan will play the role of school principal and Orton will portray the father of another child at the school.
Amy Madigan is best known for her role as Annie Kinsella in the 1989 film Field of Dreams. Not only this she is also known for role as Iris Crowe in the HBO television series Carnivale. She was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her father Madigan was a Chicago-area political analyst, newspaper journalist, broadcast and media personality and lawyer. She studied philosophy at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, piano at the The Music Conservatory of Chicago College of Performing Arts. In 1970 she moved to Los Angeles.
In 1985 she was nominated for Oscar for her performance in the film Twice in a Lifetime. Throughout late 70s she played keyboard, percussions, and vocals behind Steve Goodman. After that she worked with Danny Sheridan’s Eli Radish Band by replacing former Pure Prarie League vocalist Starr Smith. Amy Madigan also worked with an organization named of NARAL Pro-Choice America which is a pro-choice/women’s’ rights organization. In 1983, she married to actor Ed Harris and the couple have one child together.
