Aravane Rezai beat Heidi El Tabakh at French Open 2010

Canadian qualifier Heidi El Tabakh managed to stay 48 minutes in the French Open 2010. France’s Aravane Rezai simply thrashed her opponent in women’s singles round 1 at Court Philippe Chatrier on Sunday May 23, 2010. Rezai grabbed an easy (6-1, 6-1) win over fragile Heidi El Tabakh and it seems Rezai has enough ammunition to show her best performance at Roland Garros this year. On the other hand El Tabakh earned three victories in the qualifying to make way into her first-ever Grand Slam main draw. Aravane Rezai won the Madrid Open where she performed brilliantly in the tournament. The 15th-seeded Rezai demolished top tennis players Justine Henin, Jelena Jankovic and Venus Williams to earn the title in Madrid. Now all the supporters are expecting that she will perform in the same way at French Open 2010.

Rezai is playing sixth time in the French Open and last year she delivered her best performance to reach the fourth round. Rezai lost in second round in 2005 French Open and she was able to reach in 3rd round in 2006. Rezai will play against either Angelique Kerber of Germany or Russian Anna Chakvetadze in the women’s singles second round. Mary Pierce was the last French woman to earn the women’s singles title at Roland Garros in Paris in the year 2000 and now all the expectations on Rezai to do the same.
