Bo Griffin Dies

February 17, 2010

On Tuesday host for the HGTV makeover series “The Big Reveal” and a radio host for Miami’s Power 96 and Hot 105-FM radio stations died due to intestinal cancer. Back in the 80s and 90s she was known as ‘Bo The Party Animal’. She was 51 years old. In January this year after having a pain in her back she was diagnosed with cancer.

Power 96′s Mindy and Bo Morning Show became one of the most popular morning programs in South Florida radio because of her efforts. She also did entertainment reporting for a local TV station. With her death South Florida radio has lost a legendary voice. When she left South Florida her career blossomed as TV personality. She appeared on Good Day Live and also guest hosted the Game Show Network’s ‘GSN Live’. Along with that she also hosted that show ‘The Big Reveal’ for HGTV and the travel series ‘Blue Ribbon’ on Turner South.

Power 96 personality DJ Laz stated that Bo would be missed. According to him today the world has lost an amazing talent. He paid his gratitude to her by saying that she was his friend, his co-worker and his mentor for many years. That was fortunate enough to hear her voice as she inspired everyone with her sweet voice. May she rest in peace?

Recently she was running the most successful boutique that was also owned by her. The name of the boutique was Goddess and it was in Greenville in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. After having a plan to move back to Los Angeles she sold the business. She has left behind many family members like her father, The Reverend David L. Hellams, her two sisters Cindy Griffin and Polly Peterson and her fiance. Still the arrangements of her funeral have not been announced.
