He is likely to acquire the mandatory signatures necessary to be seated from Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin and Governor Deval Patrick. In a written report Kyle Sullivan Patrick spokesperson says that on Thursday morning Patrick will certify the results and ensure that by 11:00 am Brown’s request to receive the final paperwork is fulfilled. Once sworn in the Senate, Sen. Brown would confer the GOP 41 votes that will be one more than the Republican needs in order to carry on a filibuster of Democratic plans. Eric Fehrnstom said that Brown had to vote on some issues coming before the Senate that are Solicitor-General and the National Labor Relations Board and nominees for GSA Administrator.

Demands to be seated on the Senate were sent by the Scott Brown to Gov. Deval Patrick on February 3, 2010. His lawyer sent the demands to be seated earlier than that of the timetable that was scheduled having argument that he might lose some of the important votes before he takes the seat in the U.S senate. His lawyer constructed the letter for the immediate demand of the Senate seat as ordered by Brown. On Thursday, February 11th Brown was scheduled to be sworn in to the Senate Office but he backed away from the agreement and now he demanded the meeting with vice president on Thursday, February 11th for swearing in to his office. Senator-elect Scott Brown won a January 19th election for the open seat and he will be the Massachusetts senator. He gave the Republican Party a great victory in the Senate with his surprise win in the state. The election he won is not under any contention as his opponent had already conceded.
