Chan Ho Park signs one-year deal with the New York Yankees

South Korean right-hander pitcher Park Chan-Ho signed a one-year contract with the World Series champions the New York Yankees on Monday. Park signs one-year deal with Yankees worth $1.2 million dollarswith another $300k worth of incentives. Park made the announcement of the deal at a press conference held at Park 61, a fitness center that belongs to him in Seoul.
Park, 36, said,
“I decided to join the Yankees this morning. I’ll receive 1.2 million dollars for a year with an additional 300,000 dollar performance bonus.”
Park made his major league debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1994. He also played for the San Diego Padres and New York Mets. Park had been in touch with several other teams but he opted to play for the Yankees. Park added,
“But I have chosen the Yankees, a prestigious team which can advance to the World Series again.”
