The winner of “American Idol” season 7, David Cook made a guest star appearance on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on Sunday. David, 27, had a connection with the Cowan Family of Bunker Hill, Indiana. He appeared on the show to help rebulid the house for the Indiana family, whose 12-year-old daughter Kori suffers from a debilitating congenital blood disease. David got on the bus with the show host Ty Pennington and the crew and offered some help with the makeover.
He told Zap2It,
“We were lucky enough to have them come out to a show and we got a chance to talk to them, hang out with them, eat dinner together. We still kind of keep in touch through emails and stuff. A great family. I’m really happy and proud to be involved and to have them around.”
David also admits that he is much better with a guitar than tools. He said,
“I’m probably better off with a guitar. It was educational to say the least.”
This is not the first time that David involved to help the needy ones. Just a day after his eldest brother’s death, he participated in “Race for Hope”, an annual 5k run to fight against brain tumors in Washington D.C. He finished with a time of 28 minutes and along with his team managed to raise $136,376.16 for the noble cause. David is currently in Vancouver working on new songs for his next album.
