Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed has revealed that he is considering retirement after a 20-3 AFC divisional playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Star safety Reed has been struggling with a long-list of injuries. He missed four games last month due to his injuries including problems with hip, neck and groin. Selected to six Pro Bowls and 2004 Defensive Player of the Year, Reed has 46 interceptions and 13 career touchdowns.

Reed said,

“I’ve been thinking about it, and it kind of hit me on the sidelines. It’s going to be a long off-season. It hurts. I am just thinking about it. I’m 50-50. I am going to re-evaluate things and see how it goes in the next couple of days.”

Reed had one interception in the third quarter on Saturday night, but fumbled on his return, handing the ball back to Colts. Reed made only three interceptions this year. He has been struggling by a damaged nerve in his neck for the past few years. He added,

“It’s my decision at the end of the day to play with injuries. I take good advice from my doctors. It’s been great up to this point, fighting through. I wanted to battle this year even with the injuries I had last year and the injuries I had this year.”
