O2 XPhone WAP and MMS Settings

WAP:

1. Press Start then select Settings

2. Select More… then select Data Connections

3. Press Menu and select Edit Connections

4. Select GPRS Connections and press Menu

5. Select Add

a. Description: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_GPRS
b. Connects to: WAP Network
c. Access point: wap
d. User name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
e. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
f. Primary DNS: blank
g. Secondary DNS: blank
h. IP address: blank
i. Press Done

6. You should see Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_GPRS profile is created

7. Press Done

8. Select Proxy Connections and press Menu

9. Select Add

a. Description: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_Proxy
b. Connects from: The Internet
c. Connects to: WAP Network
d. Access point: wap
e. Proxy (name:port): 27.0.0.1 (Get detail from service provider):9201
f. Type: WAP
g. Username: blank
h. Password: blank
i. Press Done

10. You should see Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_Proxy profile is created

11. Press Done

12. Press Done

13. Under WAP Connection see if Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_GPRS profile is selected

14. Press Done

MMS:

1. Press Start and select Settings

2. Select More and then select Data Connections

3. Press Menu and select Edit Connections

4. Select GPRS Connections and click Menu

5. Select Add and key in following information:

a. Description: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_MMS
b. Connects to: MMS Access
c. Access Point: mms
d. Username: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
e. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
f. Primary DNS: blank
g. Secondary DNS: blank
h. IP address: blank
i. Press Done

6. You should see Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_MMS profile is created

7. Press Done 4times

8. Select More go to MMS

9. Go to Settings and key in the following information:

a. Name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name MMSC
b. MMSC URL: http://mmsMobile-Service-Provider-Name
c. WAP Gateway: 27.0.0.1 (Get detail from service provider)
d. Press Done

10. Go back to the MMS Composer

11. Select Preferences

a. Connect Via: MMS Access

3. Click on Add a new modem connection

4. Under Make New Connection

a. Name for connection: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS
b. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
c. Click Next
d. Access Point Name: internet
e. Click Next
f. Username: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
g. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
h. Domain: blank

5. Click on the Advanced tab

a. TCP/IP: Use server-assigned IP address
b. Servers: Use server-assigned addresses

6. Click ok

7. Click Finish

8. To start surfing Internet, click manage existing connections under My ISP

9. Use the stylus and click on Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS for 1-2 seconds, a window will appear.

10. Select Connect

11. The Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS connection is established successfully if you can see the connection

icon at the status bar at the top of the screen

12. Click on Settings at the top left corner. Select Internet Explorer to launch the

browser. You are ready to surf the Internet now.

a. Name for connection: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS

d. Access Point Name: internet
e. Click Next
f. Username: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
g. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
h. Domain: blank

5. Click on the Advanced tab

6. Click ok and click Finish

3. Under Internet settings, select New from the drop-down list

4. Click the General tab, name the connection setting as Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS

5. Go to Modem and click New

a. Name of connection: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS
b. Modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
c. Baud Rate: 57600

6. Click Advanced

7. On the Port Settings tab, ensure that Hardware is selected under Flow Control

d. TCP/ IP: Use server-assigned IP address

e. Name Servers: Use server-assigned addresses

f. Access Point Name: internet

8. Click Finish

9. Click OK at the top-right corner

10. On the Connections tab, select Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS from the drop-down list under Internet

settings and click Connect

g. Username: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name

h. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name

i. Click OK

11. Once connected, you will see the connection icon on top of the screen. You can now launch your Pocket Internet Explorer

12. To disconnect, click on the connection icon on top of the screen and click End

MMS:

1. Click Start and go to Settings

2. Go to Connections Tab and select Connections

3. Click Select Networks in Advanced Tab

4. Click on New to create a new Connection Settings

5. In general tab, enter your Operator name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name

6. Go to Modem tab and click New to add a Connection

a. Connection Name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name MMS
b. Modem type: Cellular Line (GPRS)
c. Access point name: mms
d. User name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
e. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name

7. When you finish, you will see the following screen. A connection named Mobile-Service-Provider-Name MMS

is added.

8. Click OK to save and exit.

9. Run the MMS Composer. Click Start > Programs > MMS Composer

10. Go to Tools > Options

11. Click and hold on any empty space, a popup menu will appear, select New

a. Server Name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name MMS
b. Gateway: 27.0.0.1 (Get detail from service provider)
c. Server Address: http://mmsMobile-Service-Provider-Name

12. Click OK to save

13. A new Server setting is added

14. Go to the Preferences Tab.

a. Connect Via: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name GPRS
b. Connect to Server: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name MMS
c. Click OK to save and exit

c. Baud rate: (default) 19200
d. Click on Advanced:
e. TCP/IP: Use server-assigned IP address
f. Name Servers: Use server-assigned addresses
g. Click OK
h. Click Next
i. Access Point Name: mms
j. Click Finish

After setting up the MMS connection, you have to configure EzWap.

1. Go to Start and select Settings

2. Go to System and click on EzWAP V2.5 and enter as follows:

Identification (Don’t change anything):

a. Allow client identifier to be: check

MMS settings (Have to enter details):

a. Message Server: http://mms(GSM Service Provider Information)

b. Sender address type: Phone Number

MMS Options (Have to enter details):

a. Validity: Max.

b. Delivery report: uncheck

c. Read report: uncheck

d. Hide sender: uncheck

Step 1: Configuration on WAP settings

1. From the main menu, go to Messages

2. Select MMS > Server List > [Empty Profile] > Edit

3. For each of the fields enter accordingly:

a. Bearer Type: GPRS

4. Select Edit

a. User Name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
b. Password: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name
c. APN: mms
d. Authentication: PAP
e. Profile Name: Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_MMS
f. Primary IP: 27.0.0.1 (Get from Mobile Service Provider)
g. MMS Centre: http://mmsMobile-Service-Provider-Name

5. Exit to the MMS menu and select Server List > Mobile-Service-Provider-Name_MMS > Set As Active

Step 2: Configuring the Message Option

1. From the main menu, go to Messages

2. Select Broadcasts > Receive > Enable
