India Vs Australia 5th ODI Highlights 2009
November 6, 2009
Last night was a superb night for the cricket but also the most astonishing and heart breaking for the Indian cricket fans. So, the story starts from here that in Hyderabad India and Australia faced each other in the 5th game of 7 match series with series result of 2-2.
After the toss, Australia elected to bat and started like a T 20 International rather an ODI and with thunder batting of Shane Watson, Marsh and Ricky Ponting set a target of 351 for Indian batsmen. They were looking fearless and played freely as they were playing with a club team. First Shane Watson uplifted score with a speed of rocket and after him Marsh came into field and hit the bowling line hard. However, Harbhajjan looked better and put some pressure on Australians. Australia made a total of 350 runs in their total 50 overs after four wickets loss
Now, from here the second interesting and heart breaking round of the game starts when Indian batsmen came to bat in the field. Sehwag and Tendulkar started aggressively specially, Sehwag who provided a better start and made 38 runs with the help of four boundaries and one six But Alas! Hilfenhauss got it out. But after that no batsmen could face the Australian bowling attack and went back into pavilion. Gambhir made 8, Yuraj 9 and skipper MS Dhoni made just 6 runs and it was a stage when batting side was under pressure. Tendulkar was standing on one side but no other batsman was proving best with him then came suresh raina, the young man full of abilities, he took the responsibility and fulfilled as well, made brilliant half century. Raina and Sachin were looking good and it seemed like they have got the match in their hands but after that suddenly situation changed when first Raina and after that Sachin went back to the pavilion. After that, Bhajji went back and with him all the batsmen except the last pair who turned the table over by pulling the score to 347 with one over to spare. It was the most heart breaking moment of the game, India needed 4 runs in just 6 balls with no wicket left behind. In first ball, they take one single but after that in next ball, an attempt of taking double one player ran out on a wonderful throw and Australia won.
But nevertheless, India fought very well . the most amazing thing of the match was the 175 runs of sachin tendulkar in 148 balls. he hit all around the ground and with that he also made 17000 runs of his ODI career which is a record, another record which he made was his 45th century in ODIs which is also a record and no other batsman have even 40 centuries in ODIs.

The fifth ODI would be the most important match of the seven matche India Australia 2009 series, as the team winning this match would take the lead and will be just a match away from clinching the series and the trophy.
