The air traffic in the major airports is affected by East Cost Storm. Snow has been falling around Washington. The storm is expected to move toward New York region this afternoon. The Airports are limiting their flights due to storm and some are avoiding flights. It is a Christmas season and delay would cost a lot to people and airlines companies. The flights at Philadelphia, Tampa, JFK, DCA, BWI, Newark and Ronald Reagan Airports have been delayed.
Reports from Philadelphia Airport are that Flights leaving Philadelphia are being delayed by 6 hours to 15 minutes. Tampa Airport reported that almost 12 flights are cancelled. The flights included various airline bounded to Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York City. Five flights for Washington and seven flights for New York, Philadelphia and Boston are cancelled.
It is also reported from JFK Airport, La Guardia Airport, Atlantic City International Airport that all flights are expected to delayed by 15 minutes. DCA airport declared that all the outbound flights and all inbound flights of United Airlines has been cancelled and being rerouted.
Flights are delayed by 30 minutes at BWI Airport. It would cause a significant delay if the flights are rerouted through Philadelphia.
At Washington Dulles Airport the flights are only delayed by 15 minutes. At Ronald Reagan International Airport all the flights are cancelled and out of 500 operations only 14 remain operational. The flights of Delta Airlines to New York area are being cancelled.
