Jimmy Carter Leaves Church

Jimmy Carter has announced himself against Southern Baptist Church despite the fact that he spent 60 years with them. He left the church over the treatment with women. He made it clear for them that now he will go on his separate way. Jimmy Carter remained the 39th president of the United States and he is also a Noble Prize winner. From 1977 to 1981, he remained the president of the United States. He won Nobel Prize In 2002.

It is “unavoidable”, according to the former president, Via Feministing. Carter said in an essay in The Age that,

” I took this decision after church leaders prohibited women from being ordained and insisted women be “subservient to their husbands.” “

For women he said ,

“Women and girls have been discriminated against for too long in a twisted interpretation of the word of God.”

Carter also said,

“The truth is that male religious leaders have had — and still have — an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women. They have, for their own selfish ends, overwhelmingly chosen the latter. Their continuing choice provides the foundation or justification for much of the pervasive persecution and abuse of women throughout the world.”

Carter founded, “The Carter Center” along his wife Rosalynn, in 1982, after his presidency. “The Carter Center”, a not-for-profit organization and nongovernmental was started to help in advancing human rights.
