Marcus Vick reality show
February 3, 2010
Former collegiate and professional American football quarterback and wide Marcus Deon Vick’s career has become a bit of a weary topic for Atlantans. It’s not new and for years we have been debating his football career, his dog fighting charges and about his jail sentence. He is now trying to rebuild his career and reputation and a part of that process is BET’s “The Michael Vick Project,” a ten-part docu-reality show which debuts at 10 p.m. Tuesday and over the course of its subsequent episodes the docu will detail all the ups and downs of this NFL veteran and particularly references to the such ‘dark’ episodes as the raging dog fighting charges and jail term which ruined his career. Currently, Marcus Deon Vick is a free agent. In the last day episode the narrator began with the words:
“From darkness, he saw the light. Blessed with a second chance, he must once again rise above to heal his family, his community, his legacy.”
In April 2007, Vick was implicated in an illegal interstate dog fighting ring and in August 2007 he pleaded guilty to federal felony charges and served 23 months in prison.
