The Ole Miss Rebels beat Oklahoma State 21-7 in the AT&T Cotton Bowl on Saturday. Dexter McCluster set a new Southeastern Conference record today. Dexter became the first player in Southeastern Conference history with 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in the same season. Dexter was pick of the players with his 34 carries and five catches for 45 yards. Dexter rushed for 185 yards including touchdown runs of 86 and 2 yards.

The Cowboys (9-4) missed a great opportunity for their first 10-win season since 1988 when coach Mike Gundy played as starting quarterback. Ole Miss had five turnovers in the game while Oklahoma State had six in the fourth quarter, total seven overall. The Rebels failed to take advantage on two interceptions made by Kendrick Lewis, but Dexter scored after a fumble to break a 7-7 tie.

Patrick Trahan played an important role in the fourth quarter as he recovered fumble by Oklahoma State wide receiver Hubert Anyiam and returned it 34 yards for a touchdown to give his team a 21-7 lead. The Rebels scored the game’s final 14 points by fumble recoveries and then interceptions by Patrick Trahan.
