Tonight the Clint Eastwood film Pale Rider is scheduled to be aired on AMC. So don’t miss the western classic film. Pale Rider is directed and produced by Clint Eastwood. Not only this he is also playing an important role in the film. Pale Rider stars Michael Moriarty, Carrie Snodgress, Richard Dysart, Christopher Penn, Sydney Penny in the lead roles and its duration is 116 minutes.
It was released on 26th June 1985. Pale Rider was distributed by Warner Bros. This film is written by Michael Butler and Dennis Shryack. AMC always try to present best out of best. Its main plot has similarities to the classic Western Shane which was released in 1953.
Pale Rider was filmed in the Boulder Mountains and the SNRA in central Idaho and its title “Pale Rider” is a reference to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalype. In Tuolumne County, California, near Jamestown theyfilmed the train-station scenes and the scenes of most established town was filmed in the Gold Rush town of Columbia and in the Tuolumne County, California.
The best thing is that Pale Rider is the only Eastwood film to have clear religious overtones throughout. The basic story centers on a conflict between poor miners and the most powerful man. The powerful man wants to take over their land. Pale Rider got four out of four stars and received highly appreciation and positive reviews. Not only this Roger Ebert also praised the film. In 1985, Pale Rider was entered in Cannes.
