March 20, 2010
Persian New Year 2010 is starting on 20th- March 2010. The New Year will start at 17:32 according to the Greenwich Time. They call it as No Rouz. It is the big holiday for the people of Iran. They celebrate this day by welcoming spring season. They celebrate the day by arranging food festival, dinners and parties. In United States this time will be at 1:32 pm. The Iranian New Year is celebrated in very traditional manner. Being Muslims, they have different customs and traditions. They grow green sprouts in their homes to welcome No Rouz as it is the beginning for the spring festival. They call it as sabzah. Sabzah is something that is used to absorb the bad luck.
Here is the time for all of us to celebrate the No Rouz, the day of New Year on 20th March 2010 with Iranians. It is a peaceful event and celebrating this day means that we all are peace loving nations.
Iranians have the tradition. At the last Tuesday of the last year which they call as “Shab Cha-har Shan-beh Suri” which means that red Wednesday, they lit up the fire. Each person jumps over it which takes away the past worries and gives the future blessings.
This year the Iranians followed the same tradition and now they are up to celebrate the New Year night with all excitement. We wish them a very Happy New year in Spring season so that their new year blooms just like spring and they get all blessings of nature like we all pray on New Year night.
