According to sources, Willie Clark has been found guilty of murdering Darrent Williams. On Thursday, Willie Clark was convicted of the crime by a Denver jury. The jury convicted him on all 21 charges. These charges also include a couple of counts of first-degree murder. Darrent Williams was a cornerback for Denver Broncos and he was shot by Willie Clark during the crime that had taken place in the early morning hours of January 1, 2007. Unfortunate Darrent Williams was only 24 years old when he was shot by Willie Clark near downtown Denver. Darrent Williams was celebrating the New Year’s Eve with the Denver Broncos team members. The 2006 season of the Denver Broncos was ended and just hours later, the horrible incident occurred that changed the lives of Darrent Williams’ family. Rosalind Williams, mother of Darrent Williams had never expected that it is going to be happening with her son.
On April 30, 2010, Willie Clark will be sentenced and he will spend rest of his life behind the bars. Rosalind Williams finally got justice. She said,
“My family didn’t win, the Clark’s family didn’t win,”
Rosalind Williams added,
“I lost my son, my only son and his children and his children lost their father.”
In a statement Pat Bowlen, Broncos president and CEO, said:
“Nothing can ever bring Darrent Williams back or ease the suffering for (his mother) Rosalind and her grandchildren,”
The statement added:
“But after three long years, it is very gratifying to see closure brought to this case. This process has been extremely difficult for the Williams family, his friends and teammates, this community, and the entire Denver Broncos organization.”
